We love the great line of state and city pillows from CatStudio and we've been pestering them for a couple years to add a Baltimore pillow. Finally, it's on the drawing board and they've asked us to help them gather a list of 30-35 local landmarks to include on the pillow. First, should they name it: Baltimore, Bawlamer, or Welcome to Bawlamer, Hon!?
Here are our ideas for what they could include. Our list is too long and we probably missed something really obvious. We welcome your feedback on what we missed, what should come off the list and maybe how a name should be tweaked. Some places would be on the pillow as names; some places and ideas would show up as small drawings.
Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, Harborplace, Maryland Science Center, AVAM, Power Plant, Ft. McHenry and a flag, Camden Yards, M&T Bank Ravens Stadium, Washington Monument, Mt. Vernon Place, The Shot Tower, BMA, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins University, Hampden, the Avenue at Christmas, a "Hon" beehive, blue crab, steamed crabs, Natty Bo beer, Old Bay seasoning, Berger's cookies, the JFX, Charles Street, rowhouses and marble steps, the Maryland Zoo, Babe Ruth museum, a raven, a Baltimore Oriole (the bird), Edgar Allen Poe, the USS Constellation, a sign pointing "Downy Oshun", "ain't the beer cold!," the Walter's Art Museum, Fell's Point, B&O Railroad, a lacrosse stick, the Basilica. Pimlico racetrack and The Preakness, Lexington Market, Domino Sugar sign, Bromo Selzter tower, Bethlehem Steel plants, Little Italy, Haussner's (OK- RIP, but what a landmark it was), Charm City.
So please weigh in with your suggestions and we have a nice contest on Facebook for our fans who comment on the pillow.
The Maryland pillow shown above is available in the store or for purchase online.
