Cocktails, of course!

For thousands of years, people have been getting together for sips, snacks and stimulating conversation.  With the advent of the "cocktail" people had  a new reason to throw little get-togethers:

The first "cocktail party" ever thrown was allegedly by Mrs. Julius S. Walsh Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri, in May 1917. Mrs. Walsh invited 50 guests to her mansion at noon on a Sunday. The party lasted one hour, until lunch was served at 1pm. The site of the first cocktail party still stands.

And it still stands--doesn't that just make you want to don a great dress and invite some friends over for a few libations? Perhaps it might be to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, engagement or promotion, but sometimes it's fun to get together just because.

Our fab new glass cocktail serving sets that are perfect for celebrating the every day and still fancy enough for those special occasions!
